My third and final submission to the contest This took quite a long time, been working on it steadily since day 1 of the contest. Thought I'd give a Shinigami/reaper character a try along with a respective noise form.
The idea was to give him a sorta manic, wildboy appearance to match his berserky, yet lovable werewolf noise form(which I essentially designed first before the boy.) Was playing with the idea that he assumes his noise form upon the removal of his bandage..which is kinda dumb, but the idea that a bandage can hold back a lycanthrope's transformation, amuses me...
He doesn't use a weapon of any kind in battle, but can exhume a sort of 'halfway' form in which he can use his tattoo as a formidable weapon.
Overall this was a fun project, despite it taking so long, I learned A LOT of new shortcuts in photoshop...and kinda found out the hard way the disastrous consequences of cutting corners when it comes time to assemble all these freakin' images together...
These designs have a very urban twist to them. It's a little different then what you normally do, but sometimes an artist needs to break the trend and explore a little.
According to how great these look, you're exceptionally skilled in whatever you do. Great job, and I hope you win!
